Decentralized Fieldbus Devices
Kollmorgen Automation Suite™ includes a large selection of remote I/O slices and couplers, all configured for auto-recognition and auto-configuration within its Integrated Development Environment.
Bus Couplers and Specialty Modules
These devices include our EtherCAT Bus Coupler, Standard-Bus End Terminals, Isolation/Separation Terminals, Standard-Bus and Fused Power Feeds, and the PROFIBUS Coupler.
EtherCAT Bus Coupler
The EtherCAT® Bus Coupler connects the real-time Ethernet system with modular, extendable electronic terminal blocks. A complete unit consists of a bus
coupler, a set of bus terminals and one end terminal.
Bus End Terminal
The Standard-Bus End Terminal is required to enable data exchange between the Bus Coupler and the Bus Terminals. Each Bus Terminal block must be terminated
at the right-hand end using this terminal. The Standard-Bus End Terminal does not provide any additional function or connection capability.
Standard Bus and Fused Power Feeds
These power feed terminals allow you to set up various potential groups with standard 24 VDC voltages. They are available with or without fine-wire fuse.
The fused version also provides a diagnostics feature that reports the status of the power feed terminal to the Bus Coupler through two input bits.
This enables the controller to monitor the distributed peripheral voltage over the fieldbus.
Isolation-Separation Terminal
The Isolation/Separation Terminal interrupts the power contacts within a bus terminal block, enabling operation with different voltages on the separated
sides of the power contacts. The Standard-Bus is looped through. An orange front plate on the terminal indicates the discontinuity of the power contacts.
This terminal does not provide any additional function or connection capability.
Profibus Coupler
This coupler connects the PROFIBUS system to the electronic terminal blocks, which can be extended in modular fashion. One unit consists of the PROFIBUS Coupler
itself, up to 64 terminals for connecting digital inputs and outputs, and one end terminal. The PROFIBUS Coupler supports the operation of all bus terminals,
providing input/output information to the controller in the form of a byte array.
Digital Input
Kollmorgen offers 4- and 8-Channel Digital Inputs.
4 Ch Digital Inputs
These 4-Channel Digital Input terminals acquire binary 24 V control signals and transmit them to the higher-level automation system. The four channels have
different input filters and indicate their signal state by means of LEDs. The input signals correspond to IEC 61131-2, type 1. These units also enable direct
connection of four 2-wire sensors. Four +24 V connection points are provided.
8 Ch Digital Inputs
These positive-switching 8-Channel Digital Input terminals acquire binary control signals from the process level and transmit them to the higher-level
automation system. The eight channels indicate their signal state by means of LEDs. Using single-ended connections, these units are particularly useful for
saving space in control cabinets. Power contacts are looped through, and the reference ground is the 0 V power contact.
Digital Output
These 0.5A Digital Outputs are available in 4- and 8-channel versions.
4 Ch Digital Output 0.5A
These 4-Channel Digital Output terminals provide an electrically isolated connection of binary 24 V control signals to the actuators. LEDs indicate the
signal state of the four channels. These terminals enable direct connection of four 2-wire sensors. Four ground connection points are provided.
8 Ch Digital Output 0.5A
These 8-Channel Digital Output terminals provide an electrically isolated connection of 24 V binary control signals from the automation unit to the actuators.
Output terminals are protected against reverse polarity connection, overload and short circuit. LEDs indicate the signal status of each channel. These units
are particularly useful for saving space in control cabinets, using single-ended inputs.
Analog Input
4 and 8-Channel Analog Inputs at are available in 0 to+10V and 0 to 20mA versions.
4/8 Ch Analog Input 0 to +10V
These 4- and 8-Channel Analog Input terminals process signals in the range between 0 and 10 V. The voltage is digitized to a resolution of 12 bits, and this
electrically isolated signal is transmitted to the higher-level automation device.
4/8 Ch Analog Input 0-20 mA
These 4- and 8-Channel Analog Input terminals process signals in the range between 0 and 20 mA. The current is digitized to a resolution of 12 bits, and
this electrically isolated signal is transmitted to the higher-level automation device.
Analog Output
Kollmorgen offers 4- and 8-Channel Analog Outputs with a choice of 0 to 20mA or 0 to 10V signaling, as well as a 2-Channel Analog Output at 4 to 20mA.
4/8 Ch Analog Output 0-20 mA
These 4- and 8-Channel Analog Output terminals generate signals in the range between 0 to 20 mA. Electrically isolated power is supplied to the process level
with a resolution of 12 bits. The output stage is powered by the 24 V supply.
4/8 Ch Analog Output 0-10 VDC
These 4- and 8-Channel Analog Output terminals generate signals in the range between 0 to 10 VDC. Electrically isolated power is supplied to the process
level with a resolution of 12 bits. The output stage is powered by the 24 V supply.
2 Ch Analog Output 0-20 mA
This 2-channel terminal generates analog output signals in the range from 0 to 20 mA. Signals are supplied to the process level with a resolution of 12 bits.
Output stages are powered by 24 VDC, and the ground potential for the output channels is common with the power supply. The two channels are combined in one
housing. LEDs indicate the status of the data exchange.
Thermocouple
These inputs offer a choice of two or four terminals that allow direct connection of thermocouples.
2 Ch Thermocouple Input
This analog input device allows for direct connection of two thermocouples. The Bus Terminal’s circuitry can operate thermocouple sensors using the 2-wire
technique. The temperature range is selectable, and the response is linear. Compensation for the cold junction is made through an internal temperature
measurement at the terminals. In addition to temperature, these inputs can also be used for mV measurement.
4 Ch Thermocouple Input
This analog input device allows for direct connection of four thermocouples.
Relay
This 2-channel output terminal has two single-contact relays connected to the power contacts, which are suitable for use up to 230 VAC.
2-Channel Relay Output, 230 VAC, 2 Amp
The 2-Channel Relay Output terminal has two single-contact relays. The relay contact is connected to the power contacts, which are suitable for use up to 230
VAC and are typically used for switching devices that require mains power. An LED indicates the signal status of the bus terminal. Power contacts are looped
through, and the bus terminals have potential-free contacts.
